Jones was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.
Jones lost out on playing time for the Guardians recently, and he sat out five of the last seven matchups. The 24-year-old slashed .244/.309/.372 with two home runs, 13 RBI and 10 runs over 24 major-league games after being called up by Cleveland in early July. He should see more consistent at-bats in the minors.
