Jake Marisnick: Becomes free agent

Marisnick elected free agency after clearing waivers Thursday.

Marisnick was designated for assignment by Detroit on Sunday to make room for Trey Wingenter, and now Marisnick will look to latch on with another club. The 32-year-old outfielder is slashing .225/.263/.408 through 77 plate appearances this season and figures to serve as a bench piece for the team that signs him.
