Mets' Roel Ramirez: Claimed by Mets

Ramirez was claimed off waivers by the Mets on Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Ramirez was sent down by the Cardinals in early July, but he was apparently placed on outright waivers recently. The right-hander has been assigned to Triple-A Syracuse going forward. He made 19 starts at Triple-A Memphis earlier in the season and posted a 4.82 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 28 innings.
