Atlanta reassigned Ramirez to minor-league camp Wednesday.
The 27-year-old right-hander previously had brief cups of coffee in the majors with the Cardinals during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, but he was never viewed as a serious candidate to win a spot in Atlanta's Opening Day bullpen. Ramirez is expected to report to Triple-A Gwinnett to begin the 2023 campaign and will face an uphill battle to resurface in the big leagues while he doesn't occupy a spot on Atlanta's 40-man roster.
