Cave is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Orioles.
Brandon Marsh will cover left field with Johan Rojas getting the start in center. Cave has slashed just .216/.280/.311 in 82 plate appearances this season at the major-league level and has struck out in five of his last seven at-bats. However, with Bryce Harper having recently picked up more work at first base to open up the designated-hitter spot for Kyle Schwarber, Cave looks as though he could be the Phillies' primary option in left field versus right-handed pitching.
