Phillies' Tyler Goeddel: Will begin season at Double-A

Goeddel will begin the season at Double-A Reading, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

It's a drastic fall for Goeddel, who played in 92 games with the Phillies last season as a Rule 5 pick. However, with no room at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, the team had little choice but to place the left fielder the next rung down. "I'm not too happy about that, but you can't control it," he said. Nonetheless, the demotion will warrant plenty of playing opportunities for Goeddel and allow him to find his swing after a difficult spring (7-for-28 with 12 strikeouts).
