The Pirates placed Marisnick (thumb) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Right-handed pitcher Max Kranick was summoned from Triple-A Indianapolis to join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Marisnick, who injured his left thumb in Monday's 5-1 win over the Dodgers. Marisnick has served as a short-side platoon outfielder for Pittsburgh this season, seeing action in 22 games while hitting .163/.196/.204 across 52 plate appearances.
