Rays' Joe Odom: Clears waivers

Odom will remain in the Rays organization after he went unclaimed off waivers Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 29-year-old backstop will report to the Rays' alternate site after accepting an outright assignment. After earning a spot on Tampa Bay's Opening Day roster, Odom appeared in two games before he was cast off the 40-man roster over the weekend.
