Mahtook got the start in center field and went 2-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's loss to the Twins.
It was a nice showing for Mahtook in his first action since being activated Saturday. Kevin Kiermaier remains mired in a slump, hitting just .152 (10-for-66) since he came off the DL after the All-Star break, so Mahtook could begin to force his way into the lineup on at least a semi-regular basis if he catches fire at the plate.
