Brett (elbow) went 0-for-2 in Thursday's 19-2 Grapefruit League loss to the Red Sox.

The 25-year-old non-roster invitee is attempting to revive his career after missing all of 2016 with his elbow injury. Brett has seen plenty of reps so far this spring, as the Rays try to make a robust evaluation of his potential. Factoring in Thursday's hitless outing, the second baseman owns a .222 average (2-for-9) with one RBI and one run over four spring outings. Consistent contact has notably been a problem thus far, as five of Brett's seven outs have come on strikeouts.
