Colorado selected Tucker's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.
Tucker was designated for assignment by the Rockies last month, but he remained with the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed and will get another major-league opportunity as Michael Toglia heads to the farm.
