Cave is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.
Cave had started in right field in both of the Rockies' previous two matchups with right-handed pitchers, but he'll be on the bench Wednesday while Colorado opposes San Francisco righty Jordan Hicks. Sean Bouchard -- who started the previous two games when the Rockies opposed lefties -- will play right field for Wednesday's contest.
