Tim Locastro: Reaches free agency

Locastro elected to become a free agent Monday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

The speedy Locastro is a career .228/.327/.337 hitter in 616 total major-league plate appearances. He opted to test out free agency rather than accept the Mets' outright assignment.
