White Sox's Mark Payton: Joins White Sox on MiLB deal

Payton signed a minor-league contract with the White Sox on Tuesday that includes an invitation to major-league camp.

Payton was non-tendered by the Mets just before the start of the lockout but has now latched on with a new team. The 30-year-old played in 24 games with Cincinnati last season and went 4-for-22 with two walks and two runs scored.
