White Sox's Mark Payton: Sent back to minors

The White Sox optioned Payton to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

Payton's stay with the big club lasted just three days, with the 30-year-old logging a walk in his lone plate appearance over the weekend. With Luis Robert returning Sunday following a stint on the paternity list, the White Sox didn't have a need for Payton as a depth outfielder.
