Yankees' David Freitas: Lands MiLB deal with Yanks

Freitas signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Dec. 14.

After a brief stint in the Korean Baseball Organization to begin 2021, Freitas returned stateside last summer, joining the Rays on a minor-league deal. He elected free agency after the season and was able to catch on with another American League East club on a minor-league pact. Freitas is expected to join the Yankees for big-league spring training, but he'll most likely be headed for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre prior to Opening Day.
