He's also tied for 12th in the majors in steals despite mediocre raw speed, as he continues to show good instincts on the basepaths. Naylor is batting .272 with a .692 OPS, 10 home runs, 52 RBI, 57 runs scored and 22 doubles across 143 contests.

Athletics' Tommy White: Three hits against Tampa Bay
White went 3-for-4 with two singles and a solo home run during the Athletics' 4-3 loss to the Rays on Wednesday.
The Athletics found themselves down 4-0 through two innings, but White and Henry Bolte smacked solo home runs off Nick Martinez in the top of the third frame to cut the deficit in half. White had been held out of the Athletics' previous three games after going just 3-for-25 at the dish over his previous nine games, but he may have earned himself more playing time following the three-hit effort Wednesday.

Nick Kurtz 1B | ATH
Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Begins hitting progression
Kurtz (thumb) began a hitting progression Wednesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Kurtz has already been ruled out for the rest of the 2026 season due to a right thumb strain, but the fact that he's begun to swing a bat is an encouraging development for his availability at the start of the 2027 campaign. Manager Mark Kotsay said that if everything goes according to plan, Kurtz may be cleared to take batting practice before the end of the year.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Orioles' Pete Alonso: Launches 300th career homer
Alonso went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 7-5 extra-innings win over the Mets.
Alonso delivered a storybook moment in his return to Citi Field, crushing Kodai Senga's ninth-inning offering 414 feet to tie the game at 3-3. The blast was his 36th homer of the season and 300th of his career, prompting Mets fans to chant his name until he emerged for a rare road curtain call. Alonso hit 264 of those homers with New York before joining Baltimore, and his milestone shot helped the Orioles eventually prevail in 11 innings. It was Alonso's fourth homer of the month, and he's hitting .255 with an .871 OPS across 14 games since the beginning of September.

Spencer Torkelson 1B | DET
Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Stays hot Tuesday
Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a three-run home run and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 10-1 win over the Blue Jays. He also stole a base.
Torkelson struck out in his other two at-bats, which is par for the course for the slugger, but he still managed to do plenty of damage with his bat while recording his first stolen base this year for good measure. The Detroit first baseman extended his hitting streak to four games, and he's driven in at least one run in all of those contests. Torkelson also has two home runs during his brief hot streak, which has pushed him up to 24 long balls for the season. He still strikes out a lot and is a bit all-or-nothing as a hitter, but Torkelson's power potential is undeniable.
