Twins' Royce Lewis: Back in action for Twins

Lewis (shoulder) will start at first base and bat fifth in Tuesday's game versus the Yankees.

Lewis had to be pulled from Sunday's game against the Guardians with left shoulder soreness, and he was unable to play in Monday's series opener versus the Yankees. However, the 27-year-old has been cleared to return Tuesday as the Twins look to even the series.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Out of lineup Monday

Lewis (shoulder) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

Lewis departed Sunday's contest against the Guardians with left shoulder soreness. Victor Caratini is making the start at first base and hitting seventh against right-hander Will Warren.

  • Red Sox's Willson Contreras: Logs two hits in return

Contreras started at first base and went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 4-1 win over Kansas City.

Contreras was activated off the injured list Sunday, and the Red Sox felt confident using him in the field. In addition to scoring Boston's final run, Contreras showed the hamstring wasn't an issue in the fourth inning, when he reached base on a throwing error and advanced to second.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Goes deep in win Sunday

Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Rockies.

Making his second straight start, Torkelson delivered his 23rd home run of the season in the fifth inning. The slugging first baseman has seen his playing time trend downward lately, as he appeared off the bench in each of Detroit's previous three games before starting Saturday and Sunday. Torkelson still offers significant power potential when he's in the lineup, but his current role makes him hard to trust for fantasy managers.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Finally goes deep at Rogers Centre

Guerrero went 4-for-5 with a double and a solo home run during Sunday's 8-1 win over the Orioles.

Guerrero's lack of power at the plate has been one of the bigger disappointments of the 2026 season, with all eight of his home runs prior to Sunday coming on the road. However, the 27-year-old first baseman bucked that trend by taking Trevor Rogers deep to left field, which was sandwiched between solo homers from George Springer and Kazuma Okamoto. Guerrero also tied a season high with four hits, and perhaps this latest outing will be a sign of things to come for the slugger over the final two weeks of the regular season.

  • Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Homers twice in rout

Aranda went 2-for-4 with two home runs, a walk and three RBI in Sunday's 14-4 win over the Astros.

Aranda reached 20 homers in the fourth inning before going deep again in the seventh. The performance continued a strong September for the 28-year-old, who owns a 1.058 OPS with seven extra-base hits and 10 RBI in 11 games this month. On the season, he's slashing .278/.362/.438 with 21 long balls, 89 RBI and 71 runs scored across 630 plate appearances.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Departs with shoulder issue

Lewis was removed from Sunday's game against the Guardians due to left shoulder soreness, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Lewis went 0-for-2 before being replaced at first base for the top of the sixth inning. The severity of the injury isn't clear, so the 27-year-old should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Day off vs. southpaw

Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

The first baseman will receive Sunday off after a run of 12 straight starts, during which he posted a .191/.264/.383 slash line with three doubles, two homers and seven RBI. Salvador Perez will take over at first base while Jac Caglianone (elbow) returns from a six-game absence as the designated hitter against Boston lefty Payton Tolle.

  • Red Sox's Willson Contreras: Back from IL, starting Sunday

The Red Sox reinstated Contreras from the 10-day injured list, and he's starting at first base Sunday against the Royals, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

The veteran slugger is ready to rejoin the Red Sox after going 2-for-7 with two RBI and three strikeouts during a two-game rehab assignment. Contreras landed on the shelf due to a left hamstring strain Aug. 31, but he ended up missing just a little more than the 10-day minimum.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Mariners' Josh Naylor: Supplies three hits

Naylor went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 19-1 win over the Athletics.

Naylor is batting .298 (14-for-47) in September, with this being his fourth multi-hit effort in 11 games this month. The double was his third extra-base hit of the month. Naylor is batting .270 with a .688 OPS, 10 home runs, 50 RBI, 56 runs scored, 21 doubles and 27 stolen bases over 139 contests.
