  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Cracks solo shot in loss

Altuve went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday in a 4-2 loss to Atlanta.

The veteran second baseman snapped a lengthy power outage, as he had lost gone deep Sept. 3 versus the White Sox. Altuve has a modest five-game hitting streak going, though Sunday marked his first RBI since Sept. 4 against Arizona. The 36-year-old has shown signs of decline in 2026, slashing a pedestrian .249/.307/.402 with 16 homers, 45 RBI, five stolen bases and 67 runs scored over 545 trips to the plate.

  • Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Could return Tuesday

Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Chisholm (thumb) could be reinstated from the injured list as early as Tuesday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

The second baseman landed on the shelf after sustaining a thumb sprain Sept. 8 versus Colorado, and it appears he'll be able to rejoin the Yankees after missing a little more than the 10-day minimum. Chisholm had a hot start to September prior to the injury, going 6-for-18 with a homer, two walks and three runs through five games.

  • Rays' Ben Williamson: Back from IL

Tampa Bay reinstated Williamson (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Williamson has been out since Aug. 7 due to a hamstring strain. Before being sidelined, the 25-year-old was slashing .247/.309/.332 with three homers, 26 RBI and eight stolen bases in 270 plate appearances. The Rays designated Jake Fraley for assignment to make room for WIlliamson to rejoin the club.

  • Donovan Walton 2B | ATH

Athletics' Donovan Walton: Perfect at plate in loss

Walton went 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI and a stolen base in Saturdays' 12-6 loss to the Guardians.

Walton did all he could in a losing effort, driving in runs on three separate occasions while tallying a homer and a steal in the same game for the first time in his career. The 32-year-old journeyman's production has been a mixed bag over his past 10 games -- he's gone hitless six times but has gone deep three times and recorded three multi-hit performances. For the season, he's slashing .269/.367/.458 with eight long balls, 29 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases across a career-high 247 plate appearances.

  • Luke Keaschall 2B | MIN

Twins' Luke Keaschall: Logs steal in loss

Keaschall went 1-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Angels.

Keaschall opened the scoring with an RBI double in the third inning, then swiped third base and scored on a groundout. There's been no slowing down for Keaschall late in the season -- he has gone 26-for-80 (.325) over his last 21 contests, a span that includes eight multi-hit efforts. For the season, he's batting .278 with a .757 OPS, 19 steals, nine home runs, 46 RBI, 76 runs scored, 26 doubles and one triple over 146 games.

  • Kody Clemens 2B | MIN

Twins' Kody Clemens: Riding pine Saturday

Clemens is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels.

The Twins will load the lineup with mostly right-handed bats and switch hitters to counter lefty Reid Detmers, with Victor Caratini starting at first base and Royce Lewis at the keystone. Clemens leads the team with 26 homers this season, but his .689 OPS against southpaw pitching is more than 100 points below his mark against righties (.797).

  • Angels' Christian Moore: Sitting down Saturday

Moore isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Twins, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moore will take a seat Saturday after going 1-for-3 with a strikeout during Friday's contest. His absence will move Vaughn Grissom to second base and Moises Ballesteros to first, allowing Tyler Heineman to start at catcher.

  • Ernie Clement 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Idle Saturday

Clement isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.

Clement will take a day to collect himself after going just 1-for-17 at the plate over his last six games. Josh Smith will move to second base to cover for Clement, opening up left field for Myles Straw.

  • Athletics' Joshua Kuroda-Grauer: Kicks off rehab assignment Friday

Kuroda-Grauer (groin) went 0-for-3 in a rehab game with Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

Kuroda-Grauer started at designated hitter and went hitless, but his return to game action for the first time since July 20 was a positive development after he underwent surgery for a ruptured testicle. He likely won't return to the Athletics' active roster this season, though the possibility hasn't been fully ruled out, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. In 16 games at the big-league level, Kuroda-Grauer impressed with a .417/.435/.583 slash line, a homer, four RBI and eight runs scored.

  • Travis Bazzana 2B | CLE

Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Hot September rolls on

Bazzana went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.

Bazzana's fifth-inning homer turned out to be the game-winning hit, as the Guardians erased an early 3-0 deficit. After a midseason slump, the rookie is enjoying a bounceback September. The homer was his sixth during the month, and he's slashing .390/.479/.902 over the last 12 contests.
