  • Miguel Vargas 3B | CHW

White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Swipes 20th bag

Vargas went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a stolen base, two walks and two runs scored Saturday against the Tigers.

Vargas accounted for much of the White Sox's offense in a pivotal win. He reached base on a free pass in the first inning and then stole second before coming around to score. Vargas then led off the sixth frame with his 33rd homer of the season. He also swiped his 20th base of the campaign, his seventh since the start of September.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: On bench Saturday

Garcia isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Garcia will take a seat Saturday after going just 1-for-11 with a walk and two RBI in three games since returning from the IL. While he rests, Nick Loftin will start at third base and bat sixth.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Drives in two runs Friday

Garcia went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Pirates.

Garcia went to the opposite field for a two-RBI double in the third inning, though he was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple. It marked the third baseman's first hit since returning from a left hamstring strain, as he's gone 1-for-11 (.091) across three games. Injuries have hampered the 26-year-old all season, and Garcia has struggled to build on his breakout 2025, slashing .262/.318/.378 with three homers, 34 RBI, 34 runs and five stolen bases over 76 contests in 2026.

White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Homer, three RBI in loss

Vargas went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Friday's 11-8 loss to the Tigers.

Vargas drove in a run on a double in the first inning before launching a two-run blast in the third. The 27-year-old has now hit safely in seven of his past eight games, and he's driven in eight runs over his last five. For the year, he's slashing .249/.357/.477 with 32 homers, 87 RBI, 99 runs scored and 19 steals across 671 plate appearances.

  • Zack Gelof 3B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Supplies A's lone runs Friday

Gelof went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during the Athletics' 5-3 loss to the Guardians on Friday.

Gelof put the A's up early, taking the second pitch he saw from Daniel Espino deep to center field for a three-run homer. It was Gelof's fifth home run over his last 15 games and 19th long ball of the season, as he needs only one more to register the first 20-homer season of his major-league career. Gelof has an .803 OPS with 11 RBI and four steals in September.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Logs two RBI, one steal vs. A's

Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and a steal during the Guardians' 5-3 win over the Athletics on Friday.

Ramirez contributed to the Guardians' three-run fourth inning with an RBI single to center field before extending the team's lead to 5-3 with a solo homer in the sixth. It was his second consecutive game with two hits, and it looks like the superstar third baseman may be breaking out of his slump (6-for-53 in his 13 games from Sept. 1 to 15). Ramirez is also up to 34 steals on the year, which is seventh-most in the majors, and he's still got a shot at reaching 40 for a third consecutive season.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Belts solo shot

Jung went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Jung took Sonny Gray deep in the first inning. This was Jung's first homer since the end of June, though he missed a large portion of the second half due to a calf strain. The third baseman has started all five games since he was activated, though he rested his legs as the designated hitter Thursday. He's batting .298 with an .810 OPS, 10 homers, 38 RBI, 50 runs scored, 25 doubles, one triple and one stolen base over 97 contests this year.

  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Sitting out Thursday

Keith is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the White Sox.

Keith missed two games earlier this week with a left thumb injury before returning to action Wednesday. The Tigers are facing a righty in Erick Fedde on Thursday, so it's possible Keith's thumb is still bothersome and causing another absence. Spencer Torkelson is at first base, and Gleyber Torres will serve as the Tigers' designated hitter Thursday.

  • Denzer Guzman 3B | LAA

Angels' Denzer Guzman: Racks up four hits

Guzman went 4-for-5 with one run scored in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Mariners.

Guzman has had some spotty hitting lately. He has just two multi-hit efforts in September, going 11-for-37 (.297) over 11 contests this month, though just two of his knocks in that span have gone for extra bases. The infielder is batting .230 with a .622 OPS, seven home runs, 28 RBI, 28 runs scored and two stolen bases across 77 contests.

  • Orioles' Christian Encarnacion-Strand: Three-hit game in win

Encarnacion-Strand went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, two doubles and two additional runs scored in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Mets.

Encarnacion-Strand crushed a homer into the second deck in left field in the third inning to bring Baltimore's lead to 5-0. The 26-year-old has now homered in back-to-back contests for the second time this season and also extended his on-base streak to six games, during which he's gone 10-for-24 with three doubles, two homers and six runs.
