Dodgers' Andy Pages: Exits after HBP

Pages was removed from Friday's game against the Pirates after getting hit on the hand by a pitch, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

Pages initially stayed in the game after taking a 100-mph sinker off his hand in the third inning, but he was eventually replaced in center field at the start of the fifth. The Dodgers will likely send him in for imaging to determine whether he suffered a fracture, and an update on his status may come after the game.

Orioles' Dylan Beavers: Clubs solo homer Friday

Beavers went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during the Orioles' 5-3 win over the Rays on Friday.

He has a .769 OPS with one steal and nine RBI across 50 plate appearances in August.

Gilbert and Rafael Devers jumped all over Sonny Gray in the fourth inning with back-to-back long balls to reduce the Giants' deficit to 5-4. It was the seventh home run of the season for Gilbert and third over his last nine outings, and it was also his 13th multi-hit game of the year. He is slashing .241/.326/.378 with one steal, 31 RBI and 20 extra-base hits over 309 plate appearances this season.

  • Pirates' Esmerlyn Valdez: Sitting Friday

Valdez is not in the Pirates' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Friday.

Guardians' Chase DeLauter: Back in action Friday

DeLauter (hamstring) will start in right field and bat second Friday against the Rockies, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.

DeLauter sat out the Guardians' last three games after suffering a hamstring injury Sunday, but he now seems to be feeling well enough to return to the starting nine without spending time on the injured list. The 24-year-old was performing great in the month of August before getting hurt, slashing .339/.422/.482 with two homers, six RBI, 11 runs scored and three steals across 64 plate appearances.

  • Wade Meckler LF | LAA

    Angels' Wade Meckler: Idle Friday

Meckler (head) isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Through his first 51 plate appearances in the big leagues, Bateman is slashing .271/.314/.313 with two doubles, four RBI, four runs scored, one stolen base and a 3:10 BB:K. He's played above-average defense in center field.

Lugo was scooped up off waivers from the Angels in June and slashed .271/.320/.531 with 11 homers, 36 RBI, 36 runs scored, three stolen bases and a 14:58 BB:K across 226 trips to the plate with Omaha. He'll provide some outfield depth for the Royals and could see at-bats against left-handed pitching.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Back in lineup Friday

Caglianone (ankle) is starting in right field and batting third Friday against the Tigers.

Caglianone was removed from Wednesday's game against the Athletics with right ankle soreness and was held out of the lineup Thursday.
