  • Max Schuemann LF | NYY

Yankees' Max Schuemann: Back with big-league team

The Yankees recalled Schuemann from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

With Ryan McMahon (thumb) sent to the injured list, Schuemann will rejoin the big-league club after he was optioned earlier this month following the Yankees' deadline acquisitions. Schuemann has slashed just .194/.333/.361 with two homers, eight RBI, 17 runs scored, three stolen bases and a 12:21 BB:K across 87 trips to the plate with New York this season.

  • Sam Antonacci LF | CHW

White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Sitting against lefty

Antonacci is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.

With lefty Sean Manaea taking the hill for New York, Antonacci will get a night off. Antonacci is just 2-for-22 at the plate over his last eight games and is batting just .200 with a .600 OPS in the month of August. Randal Grichuk is making the start in left field while Chase Meidroth handles leadoff duties.

  • Sal Frelick RF | MIL

    Brewers' Sal Frelick: Nearing activation

Brewers manager Pat Murphy indicated that Frelick (shoulder) will not be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday or Saturday but added, "I think you'll see him very soon," Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Perhaps not coincidentally, the Brewers are slated to face left-handers Friday and Saturday before taking on a righty in Tyler Mahle on Sunday, which could be the day the lefty-swinging Frelick returns. Out since mid-July with a right shoulder strain, Frelick has gone 9-for-32 with two home runs and a 5:5 BB:K in nine rehab games with Triple-A Nashville.

  • Nathan Lukes RF | TOR

Blue Jays' Nathan Lukes: Clubs seventh homer

Lukes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Rays.

The 32-year-old outfielder led off the fifth inning by lofting an Ian Seymour changeup into the right-field seats, putting the Blue Jays in the lead for good. Lukes has been struggling overall in August, slashing .185/.206/.277 across 19 games with two of his seven homers on the season and six of his 24 RBI.

  • Daz Cameron RF | TOR

Blue Jays' Daz Cameron: Belts first homer as Blue Jay

Cameron went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Rays.

Getting the start in left field and batting second, Cameron crushed a fifth-inning changeup that Ian Seymour left up in the zone, sending it an estimated 442 feet onto a catwalk in left field. It was the 29-year-old's first homer in three games since being added to the Blue Jays' roster. In 163 MLB games over parts of six seasons with four different clubs, the second-generation player has managed a .204/.261/.336 slash line with 12 home runs and 15 stolen bases.

  • Mauricio Dubon LF | ATL

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Bangs out three hits Thursday

Dubon went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Thursday's win over the White Sox.

Getting the start at shortstop and batting seventh, Dubon kept the line moving on a night when the bottom of the order did most of the work for the Atlanta offense. It was the veteran utility player's first multi-hit performance since a four-hit effort Aug. 6, and over 54 plate appearances on the month he's produced a .294/.315/.333 slash line with two doubles, three steals, five runs and six RBI.

  • Jo Adell RF | CLE

Guardians' Jo Adell: Enters as pinch hitter

Adell (knee) entered Thursday's game as a pinch hitter and went 0-for-2 in a 5-2 win over San Francisco.

Adell, who was held out of the starting lineup for a second consecutive day, pinch hit for Travis Bazzana in the sixth inning and finished out the game as the designated hitter. His usage off the bench suggests Adell could rejoin the starting nine Friday, when the Guardians face the Rockies in Colorado.

  • Spencer Jones CF | NYY

Yankees' Spencer Jones: Posts second career three-hit performance

Jones went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 6-1 victory versus Baltimore.

Jones and Luis Garcia both logged three hits in the contest, accounting for more than half of New York's total. It was the second three-hit effort of Jones' career, with his first such performance coming June 5 against Boston. The 25-year-old also snapped a 15-game homerless stretch when he belted a solo shot in the sixth inning. Jones has been a key part of the Yankees' outfield due to Cody Bellinger (hamstring) and Aaron Judge (ribs) being sidelined by injuries, though Jones is having a pretty quiet rookie campaign, slashing .227/.305/.407 with six homers, 16 runs, 19 RBI and six stolen bases through 167 plate appearances.

  • Jordan Walker RF | STL

Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Keeps mashing Thursday

Walker went 1-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, a walk and an additional run scored in Thursday's 10-9 win over the Reds.

Walker continued to roll Thursday, rapping his seventh extra-base hit in his last six outings. The All-Star outfielder has scored seven runs and racked up 10 RBI during that span as well. Walker remains a five-category fantasy producer, slashing .288/.348/.506 with 26 homers, 94 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 79 runs scored over 535 plate appearances amid a breakout campaign.

  • Wade Meckler LF | LAA

Angels' Wade Meckler: Leaves game following HBP

Meckler exited Thursday night's game against the Astros in the fifth inning after he was hit by a pitch in the helmet, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Jose Siri came on to run for Meckler, who was able to walk off the field under his own power. Prior to exiting, Meckler was 1-for-2 with a walk, the HBP and two runs scored as the Halos' leadoff man.
