Aroldis Chapman RP | BOS
Red Sox's Aroldis Chapman: Shuts door for 34th save
Chapman worked around two walks to earn the save Sunday against the Royals, striking out three in a hitless and scoreless ninth inning.
Chapman let the possible tying run get to the plate following a pair of free passes, but he punched out three in a row to hang on for the save. The star southpaw continues to roll, having not blown a save since June 28 against the Yankees. He has a 1.95 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 68:23 K:BB over 50.2 innings, collecting 34 saves in 36 opportunities.

Cal Quantrill RP | TEX
Rangers' Cal Quantrill: Tweaks back during Sunday's start
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker told reporters that Quantrill was working through back tightness during his start in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Diamondbacks, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Quantrill was able to work through the injury and picked up the win to improve his record to 9-5, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four across six innings. The back injury can be considered a day-to-day issue, and perhaps Quantrill won't miss any time. His next turn in the rotation is slated for next weekend at home against the Blue Jays.

David Bednar RP | NYY
Yankees' David Bednar: Holds on for save No. 34
Bednar allowed one hit and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning for the save Sunday against the Mets. He struck out one.
The Mets made the closer work a bit, getting the possible tying run to the plate, but Bednar hung on for the save. The right-hander has successfully converted seven consecutive save opportunities, fanning at least one in five straight outings. Through 64.1 frames, he has a 2.66 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 72:18 K:BB with 34 saves (37 chances).

Sean Newcomb RP | CHW
White Sox's Sean Newcomb: Serving as Monday's opener
Newcomb will work as the White Sox's opening pitcher Monday against the Guardians, James Fegan of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Newcomb will likely cover the first inning or two before giving way to Sean Burke, who is slated to work in bulk relief. Over his other five starts this season, Newcomb has delivered an 0.93 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB in 9.2 innings.

Yaramil Hiraldo RP | BAL
Orioles' Yaramil Hiraldo: Recalled by Baltimore
The Orioles recalled Hiraldo from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
The move corresponds with the Orioles placing right-hander Kyle Bradish (abdomen) on the 15-day injured list. Hiraldo has appeared in seven major-league games this season with a 5.87 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB over 7.2 frames. He gives the Orioles some additional right-handed depth out of the bullpen.

Rom will be back in the majors for the first time since Aug. 24. Across 12 big-league outings this season, he has a 6.35 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and three holds across 11.1 innings. Right-hander Joey Estes was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Beau Brieske RP | DET
Tigers' Beau Brieske: Records first 2026 win
Brieske (1-0) allowed a run in 1.2 innings of relief but managed to earn the win in Saturday's 11-7 victory over the Rockies. He struck out two.
Brieske served up a solo home run to Ezequiel Tovar but otherwise pitched well to earn just his second win since the beginning of 2025. The righty reliever was called up Sept. 1 after last pitching in the majors in July. Brieske looks like a low-leverage relief option the rest of the way for the Tigers, which limits his fantasy upside.

Robert Garcia RP | TEX
Rangers' Robert Garcia: Earns win Saturday
Garcia (1-1) struck out one over a scoreless fifth inning to earn the win Saturday over the Diamondbacks.
After Texas scored six times in the top of the fifth to take a 6-1 lead, starter Kumar Rocker began the bottom of the frame with two consecutive walks and was replaced by Garcia, who then got credited with the win. This was the reliever's third appearance since returning to the active roster last week. The left-hander has not allowed a hit, walk or run while striking out four over three innings.
