  • Taj Bradley SP | MIN

Twins' Taj Bradley: Fans 11 but takes loss Tuesday

Bradley (9-6) took the loss against the A's on Tuesday after allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings.

Bradley matched his season high in strikeouts and made history along the way, striking out the side on nine pitches in the fifth inning for the first immaculate inning in Twins history. However, Carlos Cortes tagged him for a two-run homer in the second, while Tommy White and Donovan Walton added RBI hits in the sixth. Despite the loss, Bradley generated double-digit strikeouts for the fifth time this season and pushed his season total to 169 across 147.1 innings. He's lined up to make his next start next week against the Tigers.

  • Walbert Urena SP | LAA

Angels' Walbert Urena: Walks five in no-decision

Urena allowed three runs on five hits and five walks while striking out three over 3.2 innings in Tuesday's 8-6 extra-inning loss to Cleveland. He didn't factor into the decision.

Urena was given plenty of early run support as the Angels jumped ahead to a 5-0 lead, but he struggled badly with his command and couldn't pitch deep enough to qualify for the win. The right-hander issued five walks and allowed Cleveland to begin chipping away at the deficit before departing in the fourth inning. Urena threw just 50 of his 89 pitches for strikes, and as a result, his ERA rose to 2.94. He's scheduled to make his next start at home against the Yankees.

  • George Kirby SP | SEA

Mariners' George Kirby: Rebounds vs. Phillies

Kirby (9-10) earned the win Tuesday over the Phillies, allowing one run on six hits and a walk across 7.2 innings. He struck out nine.

It was an excellent bounce-back outing from Kirby, who had given up 11 runs across eight innings in his previous two starts. The right-hander held Philadelphia to a lone second-inning run and needed just 92 pitches to work into the eighth inning. The 28-year-old Kirby lowered his ERA to 4.02 on the season with a 1.33 WHIP and 126:34 K:BB across 25 starts (147.2 innings) this season. He's currently lined up to face the Red Sox on the road his next time out.

  • Gavin Williams SP | CLE

Guardians' Gavin Williams: Can't escape second inning

Williams didn't factor into the decision in the Guardians' 8-6 extra-inning win over the Angels on Tuesday. He allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 1.1 innings.

Williams endured his shortest start of the season, surrendering a pair of home runs while needing 62 pitches (39 strikes) to record just four outs. Christian Moore and Vaughn Grissom both took him deep as Los Angeles built an early lead, but Cleveland's offense eventually erased the deficit to get Williams off the hook. The right-hander had been pitching reasonably well before Tuesday, but this disastrous outing pushed his ERA from 3.72 to 3.98. He's scheduled to make his next start at home against the Blue Jays.

  • Anthony Kay SP | CHW

White Sox's Anthony Kay: Lasts 4.2 innings in no-decision

Kay did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Rangers, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings.

Kay was hurt by the long ball, surrendering home runs to Jake Burger and Danny Jansen after previously going 13 consecutive starts without allowing multiple homers. The left-hander had also entered Tuesday having limited opponents to three or fewer earned runs in 11 straight outings, making the performance a rare stumble. Kay owns a 4.16 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 108:47 K:BB across 132 innings this season. He's scheduled to face the Astros in his next start Monday.

  • Jacob deGrom SP | TEX

Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Shelled for eight runs

DeGrom (9-9) took the loss Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing eight runs on six hits and five walks while striking out two over 3.2 innings.

DeGrom endured a disastrous 42-pitch first inning in which Chicago plated six runs, matching his season high allowed in any full-length start this season. The right-hander remained in the game into the fourth before departing with runners aboard, and two more runs were ultimately charged to him. DeGrom has now surrendered at least five runs in three of his six starts since the All-Star break. Through 130.1 innings this season, he owns a 4.21 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 159:37 K:BB. He's slated to face the Athletics at home in his next start.

  • Will Warren SP | NYY

Yankees' Will Warren: No-decision against Houston

Warren did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's game against the Astros, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out four across five innings.

It wasn't the smoothest of outings for Warren, who allowed at least two baserunners in four of the five innings he pitched. He's allowed at least six hits in four of his last six outings, and over his last seven starts he has a 5.65 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB over 28.2 innings. Warren is lined up to make his next start this weekend at home against the Red Sox.

  • Ethan Pecko SP | HOU

Astros' Ethan Pecko: Yields five runs in no-decision

Pecko did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Yankees, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks while striking out one batter over 4.1 innings.

Pecko entered Tuesday's start looking for a better outing than his major-league debut this past Wednesday against the Angels. That didn't come to pass in the Bronx, with the 23-year-old right-hander yielding a three-run homer to Cody Bellinger in the third inning before giving up a two-run long ball to Luis Garcia in the fifth. Pecko was able to avoid the loss thanks to the offensive outburst of his Astros teammates. Still, it hasn't been the best start to the 24-year-old's major-league career, as he has allowed seven runs over his first eight innings with Houston. Pecko could be on his way back to the minors if the Astros activate Mike Burrows (elbow) from the 15-day IL ahead of the team's weekend series against the Mets.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Orioles' Chris Bassitt: Earns fifth win

Bassitt (5-4) earned the win Tuesday against the Cardinals, allowing one run on six hits while striking out five over 6.2 innings.

Bassitt's only blemish Tuesday came when Nathan Church led off the third inning with a solo homer, as he otherwise kept St. Louis off the board. The strong outing lowered the right-hander's ERA (4.74) below 5.00 for the first time this season. Bassitt has pitched well since returning from the injured list, allowing six runs across 17.2 innings with a 14:4 K:BB over three starts. He's scheduled to face the Athletics on the road in his next outing.

  • Seth Lugo SP | KC

Royals' Seth Lugo: Sharp in Toronto

Lugo (6-7) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Tuesday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out five across five innings.

Lugo loaded the bases in the first inning but managed to limit the damage to one run on a Jesus Sanchez sacrifice fly. Lugo settled in after the opening frame, retiring six of the next seven batters he faced, and did not yield another run the rest of the way. It was the first time since July 28 that he allowed just one earned run in a start, and he finished Tuesday's outing having generated 12 whiffs and 53 strikes on 89 pitches. Lugo will take a 4.61 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 150.1 innings into his next start, lined up for this weekend on the road against the Guardians.
