  • Dylan Cease SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Dylan Cease: Rare shaky outing

Cease allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Monday.

Cease had posted a 1.71 ERA over 58 innings spanning nine starts since the All-Star break. He found some trouble in Sacramento, though the Blue Jays' offense did enough to prevent him from taking a loss. Cease is at a 2.40 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 227:67 K:BB across 161.1 innings over 27 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Orioles.

  • Zack Gelof 3B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Notches two steals

Gelof went 1-for-4 with two RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Monday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays.

Gelof has upped his speed game with four steals over his last five contests. He also has three home runs in September, producing some balance in the counting stats while maintaining a near-everyday role down the stretch. Gelof is hitting .257 with a .788 OPS, 17 homers, 14 steals, 44 RBI, 65 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples across 94 contests this season.

  • Henry Bolte CF | ATH

Athletics' Henry Bolte: Homer, three steals in win

Bolte went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, three walks, three stolen bases and three runs scored in Monday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays.

Bolte is batting .346 (9-for-26) with three homers and five steals over seven games in September. The rookie outfielder had appeared to hit a wall in July, but he's gotten back on track and maintained a starting role late in the year. Overall, he's batting .275 with a .753 OPS, nine homers, 19 steals, 32 RBI, 46 runs scored, 13 doubles and one triple over 102 contests.

  • Hogan Harris RP | ATH

Athletics' Hogan Harris: Blows save, gets win

Harris (4-2) allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out one over 1.1 innings, taking a blown save but earning the win over the Blue Jays on Monday.

Harris served up a game-tying solo shot to Andres Gimenez in the ninth inning, but he was able to get the win when the Athletics answered back in their half of the frame. This outing ended a 6.2-inning scoreless streak for Harris, who earned three saves and two holds in that span. He's at a 3.45 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 83:39 K:BB with 15 saves in 22 chances and 12 holds over 62.2 innings this season. Harris and Elvis Alvarado have shared the closing duties for the Athletics recently.

  • Jacob Lopez SP | ATH

Athletics' Jacob Lopez: Fades in seventh inning

Lopez allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out one over six-plus innings in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays on Monday.

Lopez had a quality start going, but he was left in too long and faded in the seventh inning. This marks the first time since July 7 where he's given more than two runs in an appearance. The 28-year-old southpaw is now at a 4.78 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 104:53 K:BB through 111 innings over 24 appearances (21 starts) this season. Lopez is projected to make his next start at home against the Mariners.

  • Trevor Larnach LF | MIN

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Belts homer in loss

Larnach went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's loss to Detroit.

Larnach was part of a bottom-third of Minnesota's order that produced five of the Twins' eight hits and plated three of the team's four runs. His long ball in the fourth inning cut his club's deficit to one run, but Minnesota was never able to fully catch up. Larnach notched his first multi-hit performance since Aug. 28, and the long ball was his first since Aug. 26. He's starting on a near-everyday basis and is on pace for a career-best OPS with a .774 mark through 118 games.

  • Joe Ryan SP | MIN

Twins' Joe Ryan: Fans seven in return

Ryan (6-9) took the loss against Detroit on Monday, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over four innings.

It was an uneven outing for Ryan in his return from a stint on the injured list that lasted over a month. The Tigers scored four runs against the veteran righty over the first two innings, but he managed to rebound and retired the final eight batters he faced. Ryan also flashed good swing-and-miss stuff with 12 whiffs among 66 pitches and seven punchouts. His pitch count was logically limited following the lengthy absence, but that should push up over his remaining starts. Ryan is next lined up to take the mound at home versus Cleveland.

  • Troy Melton SP | DET

Tigers' Troy Melton: Snaps losing streak Monday

Melton (8-4) earned the win over Minnesota on Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 5.2 innings.

Melton looked like he was headed for a quality start when he retired the first two batters in the sixth inning while holding a 5-2 lead, but the right-hander then gave up two singles and a double to yield two runs. That spelled the end of Melton's outing, and despite the disappointing finish, Detroit held on to hand him the victory. He had lost three straight games coming into Monday. Melton is scheduled to make his next start at home in a favorable matchup against Colorado.

  • Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Kicking off rehab assignment Wednesday

Santander (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Santander will serve as the designated hitter initially before playing defense, as the Blue Jays plan to have the veteran mainly be an outfielder with the big-league club. In two seasons with Toronto, Santander has appeared in just 54 games, including zero this season. He slashed a miserable .175/.271/.294 in 2025 with six home runs, 18 RBI, 16 runs scored and a 25:61 BB:K across 221 trips to the plate. Any production the team gets from the soon-to-be 32-year-old should be viewed as a bonus.

  • Aaron Judge RF | NYY

Yankees' Aaron Judge: Activated from IL, set to return Tuesday

The Yankees activated Judge (ribs) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Judge looks set to return to the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Rockies, marking the 34-year-old's first game action since May 31. He landed on the injured list five days later after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in a rib on his right side. Judge faced live pitching Monday at Yankee Stadium, and with the workout going well, New York has elected to reinstate him without sending him out on a rehab assignment beforehand. Prior to hitting the shelf, Judge slashed .248/.375/.533 with 17 home runs, five stolen bases, 38 RBI and 43 runs scored across 261 plate appearances.
