Omoruyi will be waived by Washington on Wednesday, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
Omoruyi's salary of $2.2 million for the 2024-25 season is non-guaranteed, so this move isn't a big surprise. When the transaction is official, Washington's roster will be down to 16 players, not including those on two-way contracts. In 43 regular-season appearances for the Wizards, Omoruyi produced averages of 4.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 9.1 minutes.
