Jaden Springer: Parting ways with Houston

The Rockets plan to waive Springer on Thursday, John Hollinger of The Athletic reports.

The Rockets acquired Springer from the Celtics on Wednesday in what amounted to a salary dump for Boston. Rather than keeping the 22-year-old guard around as backcourt depth, the Rockets will part ways with him to clear a spot on the 15-man roster for center Cody Zeller, whom Houston acquired from Atlanta on Thursday.
