Miami waived Garrett (wrist) on Sunday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Garrett was recently cleared to rejoin the Heat after a stint in the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, but his most recent absence in Saturday's loss to the 76ers was the result of a right wrist sprain. With the Heat determining that he'll require surgery to address the injury and be shut down indefinitely, the team elect to cut him loose to free up its remaining two-way slot. The Heat will have Kyle Guy, who was playing on a second 10-day deal, join Caleb Martin as a two-way player.
