Tyler Smith: Cut by Houston

The Rockets waived Smith on Saturday.

Houston cut Smith to clear up a two-way spot for guard Tristen Newton. After joining Houston on a two-year, two-way deal about a month ago, Smith didn't appear in any games for the Rockets. Houston will retain the 21-year-old forward's G League rights if he ends up clearing waivers.
