Payton (foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Suns.
Payton has been downgraded from questionable to out and will miss his third straight game due to a left foot sprain. A recent MRI revealed no structural damage, and he was able to scrimmage during Tuesday's practice, so Payton should be able to return soon. His next chance to suit up will come Friday versus the Spurs.
