The Bulls list Hutchison (personal) as out for Friday's game against the Suns with a right lower leg contusion. Bulls head coach Billy Donovan previously said Feb. 8 that Hutchison would be away from the team indefinitely to address a personal matter, but the NBA's official injury report now attributes the forward's absence to a health-related concern. The team has yet to provide an update on when Hutchison might be ready to play, but he hasn't been a part of Donovan's rotation even when at full strength.
Bulls head coach Billy Donovan said Hutchison won't play Monday against the Wizards due to a personal matter, and the forward is considered out indefinitely, Cody Westerlund of 670TheScore.com reports. "It's apparent he's going to be out for some time," Donovan said. Hutchison hasn't been a part of the Bulls' rotation since rejoining the team in late January after a three-week absence following his positive COVID-19 test. His absence shouldn't affect how Donovan doles out the minutes among Chicago's forwards.
Hutchison (COVID-19) went unused off the bench Friday in the Bulls' 123-110 loss to the Hornets. Hutchison and Tomas Satoransky both suited up Friday for the first time in more than three weeks after the two were sidelined following positive COVID-19 tests. While Satoransky cracked the rotation as the team's backup point guard, Hutchison didn't see any action while head coach Billy Donovan turned to Lauri Markkanen, Patrick Williams, Otto Porter and Thaddeus Young to fill all the minutes at either forward spot. Hutchison's path to a regular rotation role will only become more blocked once the Bulls get starting center Wendell Carter (thigh) back.
Hutchison (COVID-19 protocols) is not listed on the injury report for Friday's game against the Hornets. Hutchison appears to have cleared the league's health and safety protocols after he hadn't played since Dec. 29. He has averaged 13.0 minutes per game in his four games played so far this year, averaging just 3.3 points.
Hutchison (COVID-19 protocol) went through practice Wednesday and is on track to play in Friday's game against the Hornets, KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports. Due to the league's health and safety protocols, the wing hasn't played since Dec. 29, missing a string of 10 contests. His return to practice Wednesday is a major step in the right direction, though; barring a setback, he'll likely be available off the bench Friday.
