Hyde rushed 14 times for just 52 yards in Sunday's 45-16 loss to Buffalo. He was not targeted in the passing game.

Hyde struggled to get anything going early Sunday and was eliminated from the gameplan when the team fell behind big in the second half. He did leave the game in the third quarter with a shoulder injury, but he returned after missing just one series. Game flow was a concern surrounding the talented back coming into the season, but outside of the blowout loss to Carolina in Week 2, he has been able to churn out big outings in losses up until this week. Even more concerning was the fact that new starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick did not target Hyde once out of the backfield. This was the first game in which he did not record a catch. The Bills aren't considered a prolific offense, so it is tough to gauge how game flow will dictate Hyde's production next week against the Buccaneers, if the 49ers' defense struggles to keep the score close.
