49ers running back Reggie Bush will undergo season-ending surgery Tuesday to repair a torn MCL, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Bush was initially believed to have torn an ACL by both the running back and the 49ers, but the MCL, rather than the ACL, has been found to be the issue. With Bush out for the rest of the season and the status of Carlos Hyde (knee) unknown, the 49ers may have to turn to an uninspiring RB duo of Kendall Gaskins and Shaun Draughn in the short term.
