Brandon Doughty: Waived by Dolphins

Doughty was released by the Dolphins on Wednesday, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.

Doughty's release leaves the Dolphins with just two options at quarterback in Ryan Tannehill and Matt Moore, while the team had to make room for defensive tackle Chris Jones who they signed Wednesday. Given he clears waivers, Doughty figures to be added to Miami's practice squad in hopes they can keep him as part of the organization moving forward. The rookie is expected to get another shot at an NFL roster in the future.
