The Bucs have expressed an interest in signing Humphries to a multi-year deal before he hits restricted free agency next offseason, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Humphries was tendered a one-year contract by the Bucs as an exclusive rights free agent back on Feb. 28 after posting career highs in receptions (55) and yards (622) in 2016. He's developed as a trusted intermediate target for quarterback Jameis Winston over his first two seasons, primarily doing his damage out of the slot. With the starting duo of Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson sure to draw plenty of defensive attention on the outside in 2017, Humphries could reap the benefits of plenty of one-on-one coverage.
