Buccaneers' Cecil Shorts: Believed to have major injury

The Buccaneers believe Shorts may have suffered a major right knee injury in Sunday's victory over the Chargers, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The full extent of the injury that forced Shorts from Sunday's game has not been confirmed, but the Buccaneers believe he may have torn all the ligaments in his knee and also dislocated it. Official word on Shorts' diagnosis should be provided shortly, but it appears he is dealing with a type of injury that will cut short his campaign. That would open up snaps for fellow receiver Adam Humphries (concussion) if healthy, as well as Russell Shepard and Freddie Martino.
