Steinmetz was waived by the Texans on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle reports.
Steinmetz suffered a broken ankle last season during training camp and spent the entire 2019 season on injured reserve. Now healthy, he'll look to sign on with another team in time for the regular season.
