Giants head coach Joe Judge said Toney (ankle/foot) will take part in Wednesday's practice, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

The extent of Toney's participation in the session won't be known until the Giants release their first Week 6 practice report later in the day, but the fact that the rookie wideout is on the field in any capacity this early in the week suggests he'll have a good shot at playing Sunday against the Rams. Before picking up the lower leg injury in last week's loss to the Cowboys and getting ejected shortly thereafter, Toney enjoyed a breakout performance, racking up 10 receptions for 189 yards on 13 targets while also taking one carry for seven yards. Toney was afforded some extra touches with running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) and top wideout Kenny Golladay (knee) exiting the game in the first half, while fellow wideouts Darius Slayton (hamstring) and Sterling Shepard (hamstring) missed their second straight contests. Both Slayton and Shepard could be back for Week 6, but the expected absences of Barkley and Golladay should put Toney on track to maintain a prominent role in the game plan if he's able to move past his own injury concern.
