Bell was released by the Bears on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN.com reports.

With Jeremy Langford (ankle) sidelined, Bell was operating as an additional body behind Jordan Howard and Ka'Deem Carey in the backfield, but was able to carry the ball just three times for six yards over four games. The 30-year-old veteran should field some interest while on the open free agent market, although no matter where he signs, he'll likely struggle to get significant carries.
