New York waived/injured Sutherland (undisclosed) on Sunday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Sutherland will revert to the Giants' injured reserve list if he goes unclaimed. The 26-year-old has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game. He spent part of last season on the Seahawks' practice squad.
