Gaines suffered a hamstring injury during Thursday's preseason finale against the Chiefs, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Gaines has been dealing with a hamstring injury since the Packers' second practice in August. The second-year safety will miss crucial time on the field as he continues to compete for a role on the field with Vernon Scott, Shawn Davis and Dallin Leavitt. The Packers are fortunate, however, that Gaines was able to walk off under his own power alongside the team doctor.
