Packers' James Burgess: Signs in Green Bay

The Packers signed Burgess to the active roster Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Burgess was on the Falcons' practice squad, and he'll get a fresh start in Green Bay. The 26-year-old linebacker posted 80 tackles, five pass breakups and an interception over 10 games with the Jets last season, so he could be dependable inside linebacker depth until Christian Kirksey (pectoral) returns.
