Smith (ankle) suffered a fractured bone in his lower leg Sunday and could be out for the season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Smith is the Raiders' best blocking tight end, so a prolonged absence could affect Oakland's running game. Smith has only accrued six targets so far this season, with a vast majority of Derek Carr's throws to tight ends being directed towards Clive Walford, who has 13 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown. If Smith is out for an extended period of time, Walford, as well as third-string tight end Mychal Rivera, should see additional snaps.
