Vikings' Kris Boyd: Goes to IR

Boyd (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Boyd started four of the past five games for Minnesota. He'll be shut down for the rest of the regular season after posting 34 tackles, two pass breakups and a forced fumble over 10 games this year. His absence will open the door for Harrison Hand, Mark Fields and Chris Jones to compete for Boyd's starting gig.
