  • Lions' Ezekiel Ansah: Lands on PUP list
    By RotoWire Staff

Ansah (undisclosed) was placed on the PUP list by the Lions on Saturday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports. The Lions enter training camp with a thinned-out defensive front with Ansah on the PUP list and Cornelius Washington being moved to the non-football injury list in addition to Armonty Bryant's absence due to suspension. Still, Ansah will be able to come off the PUP list once he's ready, which could be at any point during training camp. Look for a firmer timeline for Ansah's return once Detroit's camp gets underway.

The Saints opted to release Stoneburner on Monday, The New Orleans Advocate reports. Stoneburner signed a reserve/future contract with the team following the conclusion of the 2017 season. Prior to the that, he was inked to the team's practice squad due to a rash of injuries at the position. The Ohio State product entered the league in 2012 as an undrafted free agent. Along with the Saints, he has spent time with the Packers, Dolphins, and Rams.

The 6-3, 249-pound tight end has spent time with the Packers, Dolphins and Rams, but was signed to the Saints practice squad in September 2016. Stoneburner will compete for a roster spot next season as the Saints' third-string tight end behind Coby Fleener and Josh Hill.

  • Dolphins tight end Dion Sims has been ruled out for the Sunday clash in London, reports Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post. Sims hasn't played since sustaining a concussion in Week 1. And considering he didn't make the flight to England, it's clear he won't play against the Jets. Jake Stoneburner (three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown in two games) will once again fill in behind Jordan Cameron.

  • Dolphins tight end Dion Sims (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports. Considering Sims did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, his status for Sunday comes as no surprise. Jake Stoneburner could see additional snaps with Sims watching on the sidelines, however starting tight end Jordan Cameron, who recorded four catches for 73 yards in Week 1, should be an even more prominent figure for QB Ryan Tannehill with Sims out.
