Edmunds (concussion) doesn't carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Saints, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Edmunds was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, but he was able to practice fully Thursday and Friday. The Virginia Tech product was able to make his way out of the league's concussion protocol as well. In the last five games, Edmunds has 35 tackles (22 solo) and has been on the field for at least 55 defensive snaps in each game.
Edmunds (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Edmunds continues to progress in his recovery from a concussion sustained Week 15 against the Patriots. The starting safety is trending in the right direction for Sunday's tilt against the Saints, but he will need to fully clear the league-mandated concussion protocol before retaking the field.
Edmunds (concussion) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Edmunds sustained a concussion during Sunday's win over the Patriots and remains in the league-mandated concussion protocol. If the rookie first-round pick is unable to suit up against the Saints in Week 16, expect Morgan Burnett to draw the start at strong safety.
Edmunds recorded seven tackles (four solo) during Sunday's 24-21 loss to Oakland. The rookie has played his best football this season over the past three games, totaling 24 of his 62 tackles and his lone sack in the span. Unfortunately, all three games have resulted in Pittsburgh losses, and Week 15 won't be any easier against New England. The Steelers have lost the last five meetings -- including playoffs -- against the Patriots by an average score of 35-22.
Edmunds had eight tackles (five solo) and a sack in Sunday night's loss to the Chargers. Edmunds has come alive with 17 total tackles over the last two games after averaging less than four tackles each game through the first 10 games. The rookie first-round pick will continue to serve as the Steelers' starter at strong safety, especially as Morgan Burnett continues to nurse a back injury.
