Skinner was placed on waivers Sunday for assignment to AHL Springfield, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Skinner will likely spend the bulk of the 2024-25 campaign in the AHL, where he'll provide St. Louis with some depth on the blue line. The 23-year-old Skinner, who was initially acquired by the Blues in the deal that sent Vladimir Tarasenko to the Rangers, has yet to make his NHL debut.
