Galchenyuk was moved to center between Max Pacioretty and Brendan Gallagher for Saturday night's game against Winnipeg.

Galchenyuk began the season as a center, but was moved to wing during Montreal's interminable slump. Now, as the Canadiens' organizational focus pivots toward assessing talent for next season, they're going to let Galchenyuk continue his transition to NHL center. Saturday's combination brought three of the Habs' most talented offensive performers together, but it didn't last long as Gallagher left the game after 4:52 of ice time due to a lower-body injury. Despite losing Gallagher, Galchenyuk scored two goals with Pacioretty assisting on both of them.
