Canadiens' David Reinbacher: Out indefinitely

Reinbacher had surgery performed on his left knee Tuesday morning. His recovery time is expected to take five-to-six months.

Reinbacher exited Saturday's preseason contest against Toronto after sustaining the injury. It's a huge blow for Reinbacher and the Canadiens alike -- the 19-year-old was the No. 5 overall selection by the Habs in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Montreal could choose to shut Reinbacher down for the entire season if the club is out of playoff contention in March.
