Bains was placed on waivers Tuesday, according to Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK.

Bains has provided one goal, five points, 14 shots on net and 22 hits across 26 NHL appearances this season. Assuming he clears waivers, he will report to AHL Abbotsford.
